Favourite Season..........

First came this!

I was looking for a Die that would cut frames using my favourite medium Mountboard ... This wasn't actually the one I was looking for but I couldn't find this in many places and the more I looked at it, the more ideas came to me.

While I waited for the postie to deliver, I gathered together the items that I already had for the first Idea that popped into my head.

This is the first thing I envisaged ... Little sneak peek lol!

I decided to create a Wall Hanging.

So......... Which is your Favourite Season?

SPRING
Here's the close-up

SUMMER

AUTUMN

Or WINTER

I painted the frame die cuts with Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint and then with Crackle Medium over the top and finished with Tapioca Acrylic Paint ... I want to seal with Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Medium Matte but I don't want to ruin what I've already done so I haven't quite finished yet.

This is a preview of how I intend to complete my Wall Hanging ... I'll let you see it at a later date in situ when it's finished.
Recipe List:
Stamps:   HA Scroll Tree ~ HA Natures Icons ~ HA Tiny Snowflakes ~ A Stamp In The Hand Sand
Inks:   Distress Inks ~ Adirondack Ink Espresso & Embossing Powder ~ SU Earth Tone Markers
DieCuts:   Sizzix Frame
Other Bits:   White Embossing Powder ~ Small Flower Punch ~ Small Leaf Punch ~ White Glitter & Iridescent Glitter ~ Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint ~ Tapioca Acrylic Paint ~ Plaid Crackle Medium

Beautiful Blooms........

Before I begin I'll come clean and state that this is a leftover stamping from Hero Arts February 'Kissing Challenge' ... I had inked the HA Large Flower stamp with Versamark and kissed it with my HA Manuscript which I'd inked with green (sorry can't remember what green .. think it might have been Versamagic Tea Leaves)  ... I then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

And then it just sat there .... I really loved the effect but I didn't want to ruin it as I wasn't sure how I wanted to colour the flowers (I did attempt to colour one of them but I didn't like it).

Well last week I came back to it and tried colouring with Distress Ink ... loved it! ... Used Forest Moss with water as a watercolour technique ... after the whole piece had dried I used a wet wipe by accident to wipe the residue ink and thought I'd ruined it but it gave it a lovely aged look.

Again no stitching on this one as I wanted to keep it simple....

To give my background card some detail I used my new HA Envelope Pattern (finally arrived yay!) which just adds that finishing touch.

My Beautiful Bloom is made from the Poinsettia Spellbinder Die ... inked with Aged Mahogany and I used an embossing tool to add definition ... What is the centre of the flower made of you ask!  Well it's actually the end of a cotton bud, dipped in glue and glitter lol!

Recipe List:
Stamps:    HA Large Flower Pattern ~ HA Envelope Pattern ~ HA Manuscript Background ~ SU Sentiment
Inks:    Distress Ink - Forest Moss - Aged Mahogany - Bundled Sage ~ Versamagic Tea Leaves (I think)
DieCuts:   Spellbinder Wizard Poinsettia
Other Bits:    Grosgrain Ribbon ~ Green Satin Ribbon ~ Clear Embossing Powder ~ Red Glitter ~ Cotton Bud End.

Just A Note To Say.............

I managed to get inky the other day and tried the technique for this months Hero Arts Challenge again ... I also had a chance to use some of the new bits and pieces I'd been after.

I saw the new Little Bird Die from Tim Holtz and thought ... 'I know what I want to try with that!' and this is the result.

I cut the cage and bird out of thicker mountboard/chipboard (approx 2mm - 3mm thick .. Love using this for dimension) ... I also cut the cage shape from a pre-cut card and embossed a frame with a rectangle nestie die and then my inking began.

How many Hero Arts Stamps can you use on one card lol! ... Be warned the Recipe List is a long one lol!.

I don't usually decorate the inside of the card but on this occasion I just had to.....

The HA Leaf Flourish is the last stamp I used ... I stamped the front of the card first using my Stamp-a-majig so I knew where to place the flourish on the inside so my bird could be seen through the cage.

Once I had finish inking I inserted the cage into the cage gap on the card (it actually wedges in quite comfortably without falling out) ... I just secured it inside the card and made an un-inked copy of the card front to stick to the inside to hide the gluing.

Have you noticed? ... No stitching and hardly any layers on this one ... Am I feeling alright lol!

Recipe List:
Stamps:    HA Music Background ~ HA Manuscript Background ~ HA Leaf Flourish ~ HA Everyday Sayings ~ HA Playful Alphabet ~ HA Playful Lowercase ~ HA Starburst Lace ~ HA Envelope Pattern ~ Rubber Stampede Happy Birthday.
Inks:   Distress Inks ~ Tumbled Glass ~ Chipped Sapphire ~ Faded Jeans.
DieCuts:   Tim Holtz Mini Bird & Cage ~ Spellbinder Wizard Nestie to emboss frame.
Other Bits:   White Embossing Powder ~ Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch.
