Happy New Year ~ 2011

Wishing All my Followers and anyone who visits a

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wish you all a Happy and Healthy 2011

New Years Resolutions for 2011!

Not very good at resolutions but I'll try to do the following lol!

1. Try to keep my Crafty Cubbyhole tidy

2. Try to enter more Challenges

3. Reduce the amount of info in the Recipe List of items used on each Card so I can Blog more and it doesn't seem such a chore ... keep it short and sweet and if anyone has any questions please ask in the Chatbox on the Blog and I'll be happy to answer.

4. Finish one Card before starting another ... When the ideas are flowing you want to do everything at once and don't finish everything lol!

Well I've kept it short so I can hopefully achieve all the above lol!

So what are your New Years Resolutions?

My Fav's Cards of 2010!

Like last year everyone is recaping on their Fav Cards from 2010

Just had to play along ... there are a tad more that 10 but some months were better than others lol! ... these are in no particular order ...

Blue Blue Christmas! ~ My Shona Westie Doodle Artwork

I was having a play with my newish Tim Holtz Dies (Cutting Chipboard), Westie Doodle and had created a Snowflake background with Stampin' Up! Snowflakes Distress Inks and White Embossing Powder before my body decided to let me down ... So unfortunately this was sitting on my desk waiting to be finished.

So today was a finishing off day ... Sentiments are HOTP ... Snowflake is a Sizzix Original Die (Cut from Chipboard) ... Tag is a Quickutz Die

Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas

Many thanks for looking

Calendar Notebook Xmas Present ~ No: 3

Well it's nearly the end of 2010 and ages since I last Posted so I thought I'd better tie up loose ends and also show you the remaining Crafty bits and pieces from this year.

This is one of the Calendar Notebooks I created for one of my work mates ... for pics of the inside and also the previous Calendar Notebook Post please see Here

I've used Distress Inks to colour the Grungeboard and Grungepaper ... Different Embossing Folders ... Snowflakes have been embossed with Spots ... Notebook has been embossed with Stars ... I've used a Quickutz Snowflake Die with Grungepaper ... please note I did have to cut around the Snowflake as the Die didn't go all the way through ... Silver Star Brad and a little Silver Thread.

Just to let you know .... I'm feeling a lot better.
I ended up with the Flu ... also had a course of antibiotics from the Doctor for my cough ... and ended up off work for 12 days ... in total I think I was poorly for approx 16 days ... ooh ... it was horrible ... tired, no energy, absolutely no appetite ... still have a bit of a cough but I'm hoping it's the tale end and doesn't mean it's going to come back.

Many thanks for looking ... I have a few more bits to Post before the end of the year ... hope you'll pop back to have a look.

Apologies for lack of Posts ~ Poorly!

I'm writing to you from my sickbed ... I've just about enough energy to do that between coughing!

The last weeks have been hellish!
  1. Started with a stiff neck ...hazard of the job.
  2. That moved to back ache ... hazard of the job.
  3. Then my wrist flared up ... thank god it was only one of them but as I'm right handed it just had to be that one ... had the problem since my early 20's don't know if it's rheumatism or arthritis (did speak to my doctor when I was younger (said it was repetitive strain) ... just strap it up and keep taking the tablets ... so no typing or crafting.
  4.  Car failed to start Sun 28/11.2010 ... 04:00 ... -9 ... needed to get to work ... ended up phoning the AA who said battery was ok but I needed a diagnostic check at a Peugeot garage ... charged car all day as the battery was drained ... Started on Mon ... not so cold ... went to work ... straight to Peugeot after ... Outcome New Starter Motor.
  5. Unfortunately I don't work in a germ free environment so got home on Mon with a slight sore throat ... As the temps here were still so cold I've been putting the car to bed early ... covering the windscreens ... making sure she's fully charged etc ... it was about 16:00 and I heard a strange gurgling noise ... went to investigate, couldn't find anything ... went inside and started decorating the Christmas Tree ... about 18:00 I suddenly went cold, checked the radiators ... Cold!
  6.  Boiler failed ... wouldn't reignite ... frantically ringing round for a plumber ... managed to find one but he couldn't come until the next day ... So out came the portable electric thermostatic heaters just to keep the chill off ... It just had to be the coldest night -11 ... anyway plumber came ... condenser blocked ... managed to give us heating but no hot water (thank goodness for the shower) ... a sensor keeps failing so we've been waiting for a part ... hopefully it will be sorted today.
  7. So back to my sore throat ... went to work on Tues feeling like I'd swallowed razorblades ... teeth hurt, ears hurt, head pounding, slight cough ... some of the others have had it too ... couldn't go to bed when I got home as I had to wait for the plumber ... He went about 15:00 ... I went to bed ... thank goodness I haven't been on shift the last days ... back on Sun and I'm not looking forward to it ... I can honestly say I can't remember feeling like this since I was younger ... Unfortunately it's all moved to my chest and I can't stop coughing ... I just hope I can shift it without antibiotics as I have to be careful with chest infections.
So I know I don't usually share my troubles and woes with you but I didn't want you to think I'd given up on the Blog (As the temps gone up my wrist's feeling better hence the long Post)

I hope next years going to be better ... I can't wait until Christmas/New Year as I'm not working and can hopefully recharge the batteries ... I think I must be run down with all these early morning shifts ... 03:00 is not a good time to get up lol!

As you can probably guess I don't have any Mojo either.

Hope I haven't bored you too much ... hope to do some crafting over Christmas.

Many thanks for looking

Freebie Friday ~ 'Winters Kisses'

I've been having a play with glitter and my Friday Freebie - 03/12/2010  for this week!

The bird is from the Folk Robins 'New Home' Card Elements but if you don't want all the elements you can get the individual Birds HERE

I amended the Black Outline with light grey within Illustrator but it is possible to amend colours in the PDF using your Print Set-up Options within your Printer.

Here's a side view to show you the dimension ... I've used Foam Pad Dimensionals so that the Images stand out .... Very Fine Glitter on the Snowflake, Lettering and parts of the Bird .... also a Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder with glitter on the raised Snowflakes.

I ended up creating various versions lol!

Again a Glitter Snowflake but the lettering has been filled with Silver Metallic Pen .... Cuttlebug Christmas Stars Embossing Folder with the raised bits covered with Glossy Accents.

Again using the Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing ... Snowflakes with Glossy Accents to make them shine and Glitter Snow.

Finished with Stitching to make them extra special.

Many thanks for looking and don't forget to pop over to DieCuts & Doodles for this weeks Friday Freebie.
