Valentine Love Birds & Hero Arts Challenge

Another Valentine Card for the Challenge over at Hero Arts this month ..... I've used my new Bright Red Fimo Buttons as an embellishment and included my little Birds again.

The HA Stamp has been stamped with Sugar Candy onto brown wrapping paper (Still have to get some Kraft).

The Die Cut Heart is one of my Silhouette Designs again ..... the Middle Heart, although you can't see very well in the pic is hand cut out of red Felt.

Cardmaking & Papercraft Freebie ~Birdies
Cuttlebug ~ Victoria Embossing Folder
EK Success ~ Border Punch
Versafine ~ Vintage Sepia Ink PadElzybells Inky-dinks ~ Sugar Candy

Busy Making Buttons....

Just thought I'd share this with you ........ I've been busy in the background making Buttons.

Colours used are Fimo Classic Cream 02 and Classic Red 29 ....... I've mixed the colours so I would get variations in shade.

The last Fimo Buttons I made had a Sugar Cookie effect and I think this must have been due to the age of the Fimo ....... I'm really pleased with the results I've had this time and had great fun playing.

These are Classic Red Col 29.

Here are the Classic Cream 02 and a mix of the two shades to create a lighter Pinky colour.

Only a little Cream in this version ....... they are a lovely dusky dark pink.
Many thanks for looking.

Country Folk Style Valentine

I've got quite a few of these triangle Card packs bought from QVC a while ago so I'm always trying to think of ways to use them.

The background is brown wrapping paper (still trying to get hold of some Kraft) which I've stamped with my HA Antique Flower Background Woodblock and Sugar Candy Pigment Ink ...... I've stitched around the edge and attached it to the triangle Card.

The Heart layers and the Heart Border have been created with Illustrator and cut with my Silhouette ......... I've stamped the top Heart layer with my one of the Heart Stamps from my Stampin' Up! 'Simply Said' Stamp Set (This looks very similar to one of the new HA Stamps)using Versafine Sepia and coloured the petals with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink ....... The Birds are from a freebie set from the Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine from last year ........ Also inked with Sepia Versafine and I also coloured in the tails, wings and beaks with Worn Lipstick ....... I shaded the birds and centre spots on the Flower Heart with 155U Pantone Pen.

I also coloured the middle Heart layer with Worn Lipstick so it matched and finished of the top layer with some stitching.

'With Love' has been stamped with a PSX Sentiment Stamp ....... Chiffon Ribbon from my stash and the Heart was a little Die Cut I've had for ages (came in a packet with a number of them but I can't remember where I got them from).

Recipe List:
My Silhouette Die Cuts ~ Layered Hearts and Heart Border
Hero Arts ~ S5264 Antique Flower Background
Stampin' Up! ~ 'Simply Said' Set Flower Heart
PSX ~ C-2509 'With Love' Sentiment
Cardmaking & Papercraft Freebie ~Birdies
Versafine ~ Sepia
Distress Ink ~ Worn Lipstick
Elzybells Inky-dinks ~ Sugar Candy
Die Cut Heart, Chiffon Ribbon and Embroidery Thread from my stash.

Storage Idea & Excuse to buy Chocolate .... Mmmmm!

Just thought I'd share this little storage idea with you.

If you're like me you like to see what goodies you have ...... my ink pads have been stored in a metal file box and every time I want a particular ink I have to route around .... the Ferrero plastic boxes are ideal to store ink pads so you can see what you have at a glance, you're neat and tidy and you can make an excuse to hubby to buy them cause you need the box to keep tidy. lol!

The Ferrero Rocher square box holds 12 normal size ink pads and they stack together so you can label the side and put them on a shelf .... the multi version long box (one of hubbies xmas presents ..... he's a chocoholic) holds 16 Distress Ink Pads.

Thanks for looking and I hope you found this interesting.

Stampin' Up! Challenge From Mainly Flowers

I had great fun creating this for the Dec Stampin' Up Challenge over at Mainly Flowers.

I've invested in a couple of newer border punches and I just love this one from EK Success.

I cut off the side section of the pattern background paper and then punched the border ...... I partially cut around the largest Flower so that I could lift the petals to show the coloured card underneath ...... I punched the turquoise card so that a little of the colour showed at the border.

The two top sections were then attached to the pink card and I stamped the little Sentiment in the corner ...... I worked out where I wanted to place my Butterflies and used a Japanese Hole Punch I had for Christmas to create the trail ........ I placed the scrap of the left over turquoise card behind the holes to link the colours together and create a feature.
Taking the piece of patterned paper I had cut off previously, I cut out the two flowers and attached these with foam pads over the flowers next to the larger flower.

The Butterflies have been made using two punches I have not used for ages and had to hunt out of the box ..... I think they might now be used more often lol!

A Very Special Card!

It's a big Birthday for my Mum tomorrow ............ I won't say how old she is but I thought I would make her a Special Card .... hence the Champagne Bottle.

Of course I had to pull out all the stops and make a special box for it to sit in ....... If I make unusual shapes I usually try to find an envelope that will fit ...... wouldn't dare for this one.

I've used one of my favourite Hero Arts Stamps for the detailing and the Sentiment is from Stampin' Up! ..... I've also decorated the inside with the same HA Stamp, a Happy Birthday Stamp and also one of the new Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Whimsical Word Stamps ..... 'the more Candles the bigger the Wish!'

The Bottle, Labels and Filigree Flowers are my Designs created for the Silhouette (Filigree Flower is available over at Cut It Cute if you're interested).
I will list all the other bits and pieces in more detail in the Recipe List.

Leaves and Small Sunburst centre are made from Punches ........ The front Flower is a Stampin' Up! Rubber Stamp and I've punched it out with the Punch that goes with the set.

The whole front of the Card has been Embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug Folder.

Recipe List:
My Silhouette Die Cuts ~ Bottle, Labels and Filigree Flower
Hero Arts ~ F5042 Leaf Flourish
Stampin' Up! ~ Sincere Salutations Sentiment Set
Stampin' Up ~ Looks Like Spring Flower & Punch
Cuttlebug ~ Victoria Embossing Folder, Small Flower Die Cut
Woodware Leaf Punch, Tiny Sun Punch
Pearls, Ribbon and Embroidery Thread from my Stash

Oops! Nearly forgot ...... Antique Linen & Tea Dye Distress Ink

Caardvarks Challenge Continued.......

I had the little Pink Punched Cut out lying on my table from the previous Caardvarks Card so thought I might use up the pieces and team them with brown. Using the same Sketch this was the result ....... And I'm still just in time to enter this version in the Challenge for this week.

The HA Stamped Background has been stamped with Versacolour 54Brown and then I applied clear embossing powder ........ unfortunately it isn't showing up on the pic but looks quite nice on the finished article.

I brayered a piece of card with the same brown ink pad so that it matched the stamped image and then used the Victoria Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (As you've probably noticed I love this at the moment as it's been on every card so far). I used the Martha Stewart Embossed Scallop border punch at the edge, marked my stitch lines and once stitched I glued the punched shapes over the top.

I attached my nestie oval sentiment with Foam Pads and to finish off the Card glued on a Bow and the Gems.

Recipe List
:
Hero Arts ~ S5213 Dots & Flowers
Stampin' Up! ~ Sincere Salutations Sentiment
Cuttlebug ~ Victoria Embossing Folder
EK Success Punch
Martha Stewart ~ Embossed Scallop Border Punch
Spellbinder Wizard Oval Nesties
Versacolour 54Brown Ink Pad
Chiffon Ribbon, Embroidery Thread and Gems from my Stash

Something for Quilterlin.......and something different from me!

This is really a Post for Quilterlin ....... I know it's not Quilting but I think she might like these Cross Stitch Pictures I created a while ago and are now hanging proudly in my kitchen.
The Design elements were from a Coats Intermezzo Cross Stitch Design Sheet I bought in Germany a long time ago (I've just noticed the price and it's 2.90DM which shows you how old it is lol!).......... they can be used on all sorts, towels, oven gloves .......... I suppose you could also create a trim on the edge of a plain curtain but I just thought they would make great pictures so this is the result.
From viewing Quilterlins Blog Sending Hugs and her Flickr Photostream I think we have silmilar taste in this sort of thing so I hope she likes them.
If you have a similar taste why don't you pop over and see her Blog ..... you'll find some lovely Cards.
Come to think of it, I've been crafty all my life but as yet haven't tried quilting ......... maybe one day.
The Picture I took showing all of them didn't turn out very big so I've produced individual larger versions which are posted below.
This was the centre section in the Design Sheet which made me want to make Pictures.
Here I took some of the elements, used the same frame and created extra Jars and items you might find on a shelf and included the cat.

Here I took the Frame and curtains but changed the cooker/range into a sink with soap and other bits in a jar and of course included the cat.
Hope you like them and thanks for looking

Wooohoo! I Think I'm On A Roll!

Think I'd better lie down lol! ....... Three Card Posts in one day .......... am I feeling okay?

These are the Flowers that should have gone on the previous Post but as I put the Card together it didn't seem to be working ..... A quick revamp and this is the result!

I stamped a plain Card with Black Ink and my HA Outline Flowers Stamp, Die Cut with Spellbinder Wizard Fancy Tags and Floral Accent Cutters and then inked over in Black ....... Out came the Nesties Rectangles ..... the plain one was stamped with a Sincere Salutations Sentiment from Stampin' Up! and I stitched around the embossed section to give definition.

The main Fancy Tag section and individual Flowers sections have been raised with Foam Pads (Dimensionals) to make these areas POP!

Recipe List:
Hero Arts ~ S5135 Outline Flowers
Stampin' Up! ~ Sincere Salutations Sentiment
Stampin' Up! ~ Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker
Spellbinder Wizard ~ Fancy Tags, Floral Accents & Rectangle Nesties
Black Ink Pad

Two Posts In One Day............ Having A Play!

Well haven't Posted any New Cards for ages and now you get two Posts in one day lol!

This Card started out completely different so the bits that were intended for it have been revamped for another Card ....... Might end up as 3 Posts in one day as it's sitting on my desk needing assembling lol!

I bought these two Rubber Stamps ages ago but hadn't felt the Mojo to create anything ..... what with the decorating and the bad virus. I also treated myself with some Christmas money and bought this new (well to me anyway) Martha Stewart Border Punch and these fab Spellbinder Fancy Tags.

I stamped the Flowers with the HA Outline Flowers Design Block, coloured them with the Ruby Red Stampin' Up! Stampin Write Markers and after cutting them out layered them with Foam Pads (Dimensionals).

Recipe List:
Hero Arts ~ K5175 Houndstooth
Hero Arts ~ S5135 Outline Flowers
Stampin' Up! ~ Sincere Salutations Set
Stampin' Up! ~ Ruby Red Stampin' Write
Spellbinder Wizard Shapeabilities ~ Fancy Tags
Cuttlebug ~ Victoria Embossing Folder
Martha Stewart ~ Embossed Zigzag Border Punch
Black Ink Pad
Ribbon and Jet Bead from my Stash

Just a quick edit as I've found a Challenge that this fits in ...... Over at Crazy4Challenges the theme is Birthdays so I just had to enter this.

And another quick edit as I've found another Challenge this fits ...... Over at The Pink Elephant Challenge #49 whose theme is also Birthdays.

Caardvarks New Year Sketch Challenge

It's ages since I had a play along with a Challenge but this one over at Caardvarks caught my eye and I just had to have a go.

It's a fab Sketch which I think I'll be using in many different ways.

I've just realised the only rubber stamping on the Card is the Sentiment ..... lol!

Recipe List:
Stampin' Up! ~ 'Fresh Cuts' Set Sentiment
Cuttlebug ~ Victoria Embossing Folder
Spellbinder Wizard ~ Shapeabilities Fancy Tags
Spellbinder Wizard ~ Flower Creations
Adirondack Slate Ink Pad
Ek Success Punch
