Many thanks for looking and I hope you've enjoyed my recap of my Favs for 2009.

Finished at last....

Here is the 2nd Card, finished at last and I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out .......... even if I say so myself lol!

I had great fun with this one ........ can you tell?

I started by versamarking the background stamp and heat embossing with white embossing powder. I then used Peeled Paint Distress Ink and blended the colour over the whole of the embossed Card. I Stamped the Pine Needles again with Peeled Paint and cut out the stamped image with my Oval Nestie.

The small Flowers (Stampin' Up!) were stamped in Fired Brick and I used the Stampin' Up! Punch to punch around the image (Whole set a bargain from ebay ... you know how I love my bargains lol!) I used a large Embossing Tool and Mat to give the Flowers dimension. The Sentiment is also Stampin' Up! also stamped in Fired Brick.

The added little extras were cut from a spare Card so the colour matched.

Recipe List:
Hero Arts ~ S5213 Dots & Flowers
Hero Arts ~ K5242 Big Pine Bough
Stampin' Up! ~ 'Looks Like Spring' Small Flower
Stampin' Up! ~ 'Looks Like Spring' Flower Punch
Stampin' Up! ~ Sincere Salutations
Distress Ink ~ Peeled Paint & Fired Brick
White Embossing Powder
Cuttlebug ~ Ornamental Dies
Tiny Small Sun Punch
Spellbinder Wizard ~ Oval Nesties

A Little Late .........

I mentioned a little while ago that I had a finished Card to upload and one to finish. Sorry for the delay but due to illness and the decorating I have only just managed to have some time to myself.

Here is the 1st one ..... my 1st attempt at Acetate and I'm quite pleased with the result.

I love the soft look achieved and you might see a few more like this in the future.

I've had a request for instructions on how I made the Card so here they are.
I stamped half a plain pre-made Card with the Stampin' Up! Canvas Background Stamp using Antique Linen Distress Ink and using a blending tool used the same ink on the edges ..... next I took the Hero Arts Christmas Script Stamp and stamped the side of the Card using Tea Dye Distress Ink.
I then stamped a piece of Acetate using the Hero Arts Flourish Pine Stamp and Elzybells Whipped Cream (don't you just love the name of it lol!) Hybrid Inkpad ...... I then put this aside for later.
Next I stamped the Penny Black Filigree Tree onto a scrap piece of the same Off White pre-made Card using Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder ........ this was then blended with the Antique Linen Distress Ink so it sat with the background ..... once completely dry I cut around the shape.
Taking all the elements I now assembled the Card ..... Acetate was cut down to size so it sat over the folded pre-made Card but with a lip so I could attach it to the back edge of the Card ..... I cut a small slit in the fold edge of the Acetate so I could feed the ribbon through, left the ends at the front so I could tie the bow (I put a small piece of double sided at the inside base section of the acetate so the ribbon would stay in place) ...... I glued the tree to the front of the Acetate and made a small bow from the scrap of ribbon left and glued this to the front of the tree.
The final touch was to dot the acetate and tree with White Pebeo Volume Touch.
Hope this helps Gail.

Penny Black ~ 3741K Filigree Tree
Distress Ink ~ Antique Linen & Tea Dye

Deep in the Decorating ~ Fighting the Flu.

Apologies for not being around much lately but I'm deep in the decorating. So much that I think I've had the flu ....... started last Sunday with a sore throat and felt worse from then on but didn't have time to think about it as I had the decorating to get on with and also fit in going to work.

Fought my way through it and feeling slightly better ...... just have the sore throat, cold and chesty cough now (hopefully the appetite will return for Christmas) ............. I can't remember when I felt sooooo bad but knew I had too much to do ............... can see an end to the decorating, just a final coat needed on the walls and the stairs to gloss ...... yay! I so hate the prep it just takes sooooo long and oh! if you'd seen the walls/stairs before ......... this was the last job we had to do since we moved in.

I have a card ready to post and another nearly finished so I will post them a.s.a.p ........ oh to have a minute to myself.

Take care and thanks for looking.

Fab Floating Snowflakes

If you like my floating Snowflakes and would like them yourself send me an email and I'll send you the link/code and tell you how to put them into the Blogger Gadget List now I've worked it out.

There are two Snowflakes available on the site ....... you just have to save it on you computer and load the the one you want into Photobucket grab the Direct Link Code and place it where it tells you to in the Code.

Unfortunately the small Snowblizzardy Snow doesn't show very well on my light coloured Blog Background and you might have the same problem.

Another great thing about this Code is you can also put leaves in for Autumn (Pic on the Site) and put your own Flower Pic in for Spring/Summer.

Hope this is of interest.

Many thanks for looking
