Wildflower Bouquet ~ Stampin' Up! & Hero Arts

I've been having a little play with my Stampin' Up! 'Pocket Silhouettes', Hero Arts and My Silhouette Die Cuts and the result is this simple Card.

The Wildflowers are stamped with Versamagic .......... I stamped the edge of my green Bazzill with a Versamark Ink Pad and just one of the Wildflower Stamps and finished off with the Birthday Wishes Stamp from the Sincere Salutations Set.
The Brown Bazzill has been Versamark Stamped with Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain.
My centre piece is raised with Foam Pads and I threaded the Ribbon (Recycled hanging up ties cut from a top.) so that I could tie it in a bow at the front.

Quick Recipe List:
My Silhouette Frames
Hero Arts ~ S5208 Designer Woodgrain.
Stampin' Up! ~ Pocket Silhouettes
Stampin' Up! ~ Sincere Salutations
Versamagic Ink Pad~ Tea Leaves, Red Brick, Sahara Sand & Jumbo Java
Versamark Ink Pad
Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch.
Parakeet Green & Brown Bazzill

'Blooming Daisies'

I managed to get hold of a great little bargain on ebay last week. A great little Hero Arts set from 2002 called 'Daisies Bloom' ............... Immaculate Box, one Stamp had been inked with silver ............ gave them a good clean and it's like a brand new set and all under £5 (Am very pleased).

Had to have another go at the 'Learning' Challenge over at Hero Arts. I've never really tried masking but thought I'd give it a go and this is what came out of it.
I stamped Daisies over the background, punched out circles to place over the top of them and then used my Dots and Flowers Background over the top.

I really loved the effect it created and I've dotted the inside Flower with Opal Liquid Pearls ........ Hope you can see the effect as it's really delicate.
Daisies were Inked with Jumbo Java Versamagic and coloured/blended using Sansodor .... they and the Wizard Die Cuts have been applied with 3D Foam Pads.
Of course it wouldn't be one of my Cards now without the stitching lol!

Recipe List:Hero Arts ~ LL741 Daisies Bloom
Hero Arts ~ S5213 Dots & Flowers
Hero Arts ~ LL807 Messages ~ Happy Birthday
Hero Arts ~ Soft Sand Shadow Ink
Versamagic ~ Jumbo Java
Opal Liquid Pearls

Hope you like it and many thanks for looking.

I've had this beautiful Brocade Background Stamp for a little while now. As you may have seen from the recent Cards I've made, it's a current favourite, so I just had to get the Elegant Brocade Stamp that sits with it.

Hero Arts ~ F5243 Elegant Brocade

'Dragonfly Delight'

Hero Arts are featuring a 'In Celebration of Learning Week' this week to showcase what people have learned from visiting the Site. Well, if you've visited me before you know by now that I don't tend to use a great deal of bought backing papers and tend to create my own with all the Fab Rubber Stamps out there. I haven't bought any Hero Arts for years but seem to be making up for it now as there are such tempting ones available at the moment.

Well after that waffle where was I? ................ 'Learning Week' I've used this technique once before and it's great so this is my entry for this weeks Challenge and if you want to know how to do this technique the link is Here.

The Dragonfly Background Stamp I picked up from Ebay a couple of weeks ago ........... £4 Brand New ..... Bargain.
I created the Dragonfly Die Cut on my Silhouette so it would sit with the Background ........... Love the Heart Butterfly but I don't think they've created a Dragonfly yet.
I've stamped the base bit with the Fancy Designer Flourish Border using the same technique as the Dragonfly Background and whizzed it through the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

Recipe List:
Hero Arts ~ H2413 Dragonfly Background
Hero Arts ~ H5227 Fancy Designer Flourish
Hero Arts ~ LL987 Special Words
Distress Inks ~ Broken China, Shabby Shutters & Scattered Straw
Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl Embossing Folder
Embroidery Thread, Pearls and Grosgrain Ribbon from my Stash

For A Little Fun ....... Geckos On The Run.

One for the Boys ................. I never know what to put together so I thought I'd have a play.

I've used my Adirondack Espresso Ink Pad and Embossing Powder together with my Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Block so it's textured and very touchy feely ............ I can't believe what a Fab effect it's created. I don't think I've ever used them together (Had the whole kit from QVC years ago) I think I might be using these together more often.

The little lizards are made from a Quickutz Die (discontinued now but I managed to get it as a bargain from ebay years ago) I coloured them and embossed them along with the leaves so that they curve above the Card.

Recipe List: Just so you know what I've used.
Hero Arts ~ S5208 Designer Woodgrain
Hero Arts ~ S5055 Floating Leaf Pattern
Hero Arts ~ K5192 Dots
Funstamps ~ Happy Birthday
Spellbinder Wizard Nestie Circles

Hibiscus Flower Blossom Tutorial

I had a request on how I produced the Hibiscus Flowers so here it is, I hope it's clear.............any questions please come back and ask.
If you haven't seen the original Card and would like to see what it looked like ...... please see Here.

As there are so many Pics I have created a little Movie (unfortunately Slideshow wouldn't work).
video

Here is the info to go with the Pics ....
  • Quickutz Die Cut Shapes cut in White and Bazzill Hilary (Green) Card with Quickutz Squeeze (it's not necessary to have Squeeze, any System, Cuttlebug, Big Shot etc will do) Die Cut Dies are KS-0163 (Hibiscus Doublekutz) & RS-0039 (Leaves Singlekutz).
  • Hibiscus Shape with Pencil lines to show my cut lines.
  • Worn Lipstick Distress Ink Colour position to show how I shaded the Die Cut Shape.
  • Fired Brick Distress Ink Colour position ............... While the Worn Lipstick Shade is still wet, only colour the tips of the Flower Petals ............... blend the colours together slightly .......... you might want to add a little more colour at the edges so they are darker ............ oops! forgot to show you the Inside Flower Die Cut Shape (its on the next Pic lol!)
  • On the Inside Flower Die Cut Shape, I coloured it with the Fired Brick Distress Ink, let it dry and then went over it again so it had a really dark tone ............. You also need to dot the Flower Petals with the Black Pen at this stage .................... Once dry you can cut your pencil lines with a sharp blade.
  • Next comes the Flower Petal Shape Embossing ............. The Pic shows some of the Petals Embossed and the Tool I used.
  • You can now see the completed Embossed Flower with all the Flower Petals Embossed.
  • All I've done on this Pic is place my Big Ball Embossing Tool in the centre of the Flower so that it indents the centre and the Petals Bloom.
  • Next comes the Leaves ................. I again used the Big Ball Embossing Tool and have just outlined one side of the leaves at this stage so you can see the effect. (The completed leaves have been embossed on both sides)
  • Now my Inside Flower Shape is dry you can see I've used a smaller Ball Embossing Tool and have just indented the round sections ............... the centre section has been indented with the Big Ball Embossing Tool so that it now raises all the previously indented sections to give definition.
  • All the pieces ready to essemble.
  • Completed glued together Flower.

  • Hope all is clear and easy to understand
    Thanks for looking
