2Sketches4You ~ Laura's Sketch #18

There's a great Sketch by Laura over at 2Sketches4You titled Sketch 18!

Just had to have a go this week...............didn't quite know what I was going to do as I started but it came together as I added bits and pieces!

I added quite a lot of Hand-stitching which I thoroughly enjoyed!

The centre circle has been attached with Foam Pads so that it stands out and the Flowers have been attached with glue but the embroidery threads behind have added dimension!...........I also pricked the edge of the Scallop Circle to give a stitched affect!

If you've visited me before you know I do like to play with my Background Stamps lol!

Recipe List:
* Judikins ~ Arabesque Background Stamp ~ I do love this as it gives such different looks depending what Ink Pads you use!
* Heidi Grace ~ CherryWood Lane Flourish & Winnefred St Flourish Flowers.
* Hero Arts ~ H2365 Old French Writing
* Hero Arts ~ Special Words ~ Delight
* Cuttlebug Flowers
* Wizard Nestie Circles
* Wizard Ribbon Trio Die Cutter
* Hero Arts ~ Soft Sand Shadow Ink Pad
* Versamagic ~ Sahara Sand Ink Pad

Penny Black Saturday Challenge ~ Week #33 ~ 'Frame It'

The Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday is titled Week #33 ~ 'Frame It'!

I can't believe I've actually managed to add my entry on the day the Challenge has been set lol!

I've had a great play while managing to Dog Sit (Parents and Hubby have gone to watch Leics Play..............not a great Football Fan me lol!)

I've kept it fairly simple and thought I'd do a little hand stitching and paper poking for a change!

The little bear image is from The Glitter Pot Sale...............so I have a few Penny Black Images to play with now............not just backgrounds lol!

He is coloured with Karisma Pencils and blended with Sansador (great product.....don't know how I managed without it!)

I've cut him out and attached him and the Frame and Flowers with Foam Pads!

The Background which I stamped over the whole Card Front is Hero Arts Wavy Leaf Pattern and I used Versamagic Thatched Straw Ink Pad for the background stamping and also the shading on the Frame, Flowers & Flourishes!

The Card I've used is actually Cream but unfortunately the photo hasn't picked it up very well!

As you can probably tell, I had great fun with this one and think I might do this technique more often!

No Recipe List again this time..............If you'd like the full run down of what I've used, let me know and I give you the details!

Penny Black Challenge ~ Week #32 'Lets Get Dotty' & Cutie Sunday Challenge ~ Sketch #25

The Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday this week is 'Lets Get Dotty' and I just had to combine it with my 1st entry to the Cutie Sunday Challenge which is a Wonderful Sketch!

I have changed the Square to an Oval in the Sketch but I hope I can get away with it lol!

Well I don't know where the week is going................this has been sitting on my desk waiting completion for a couple of days and it's nearly Saturday again!

This Card has been a work in progress............I printed off my Spotty Paper Design ages ago and must admit, it's been flying around in one of my paper trays which has given it a slightly aged look and some of the print has been scratched, which has added to the effect I wanted................................I think I might have to try this again but probably won't get this look again lol!

I didn't have a plan on the colours either apart from the Spotty Paper so although the Pinks clash and I wasn't sure about the Green..................I'm quite happy with the final outcome!

The Katydid Bazzill has been Swiss Dots Embossed and I have used my Lakeland Ribbon Slot Punch at the edge after I Punched with my Threading Water Border Punch...............I also distressed the edges of the Bazzill and the Spotty Paper.

The Hedgehog Image has been shaded with Karisma Pencils & Sansador.................Foam Pads behind to stand him proud!

To finish I attached Prima Flowers and Flower Eyelet and as a final touch (the bottom corner looked abit lost) I added some small pink Crystal Gems!

Thanks for looking

Friday Sketchers #35 & Cuttlebug Be Inspired #14

There's a Wonderful Sketch over a Friday Sketchers Challenge this week.............Sketch #35 and over at Cuttlebug Challenge they want you to be Inspired using your favourite Cuttlebug Die or Embossing Folder!..........................So I just had to combine the two Challenges lol!

My favourite Cuttlebug Folder is the D'Vine Swirl but I find that all of the Cuttlebug folders are far superior to any other available (I have a few others) as they give such deep detailed Impressions.................I just love the texture they give!

When I saw the Sketch I just knew straight away what I wanted to team with it................it's a fairly simple Card with just a few details doing all the work!

The little Teddy Roses Bear is my own Artwork and I Scanned the Original Artwork into the computer, separated it so I could print off and use for Decoupage..................he and the Roses have been layered with Silicone adhesive............I've then attached him to the Oval Frame with foam pads so he POPS!

I have used him before on an older Cards so I thought I'd resurrect him lol!

The rectangle behind his oval frame has been scored around the edges to give extra detail and stamped with a Swirl from the Heidi Grace Cherry Wood Set (I treated myself to the 2nd QVC Set just before Xmas lol.........you get 12 Rubber Stamps in each set and they are great value.......even with P+P).

Recipe List:
My Own Teddy Bear Artwork
Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl Embossing Folder
Heidi Grace ~ Cherry Wood Set Swirl
All Night Media ~ Rose Pattern 883J
Wizard Nestie ~ Ovals
Quickutz Heart
Hero Arts ~ With Loving Thoughts Sentiment
Ribbon & Roses from my Stash

Some of their Designs are so simple but look so effective and such a different style to what I usually do..................i.e. minimalist..........I just had to give them a go!

And Now for my Close-up..................so you can see the detail a little better!

Cream Hammered Card
Bazzill Candy Apple Card
Bazzill Brown Card ~ Not Chocolate enough though so I had to Brayer it with Adirondack Expresso

Penny Black Challenge Week 31 ~ Colour Scheme

The Challenge over at Penny Black this week is a Colour Scheme Challenge ~ Pink & Brown!

I had great fun with this one (now I have a few more Penny Black Stamps............not as many a I'd like though lol).

The Daisy Pattern has been stamped on to a lovely pink card.............the bear is also placed on a Nestie cut from the same card.........unfortunately the photo hasn't shown the colour very well.

I've used Karisma Colour Pencils to shade (I believe they're now Prisma!) and dotted the centre of each flower with Pebeo Gloss Touch in Chocolate.

The bear image has been framed with Nesties which have been layered with Foam Pads..............the little bear is also attached with Foam Pads so he stands out!

I used a piercing tool to edge the Pearlescent Brown Nestie just to add a little detail..............I also added a little flower to the bear so everything jelled together lol!

I've been a bit more adventurous with a matching pink insert inside the card, the edges of which I have stamped with my Daisy Pattern!

To finish off I Stamped Happy Birthday in the centre section, so everything sits together!

Embellished with Prima, Quickutz Flowers & small Pink Brads.

Penny Black ~ 2642K Daisy Pattern
Penny Black ~ 1452E Bear Blank 3

The Challenge over at Friday Sketchers is Sketch Challenge #34.....................It's a really fun Sketch and I just had to take part!

My unspoken New Years Resolution to myself (or one of them lol) was take a more active part in Challenges and I seem to be on a role at the moment.....................don't know how long it will last though lol!

The idea for the Card was inspired by some lovely paper I saw the other day (Browsing in Monks Den) I'd had my eye on a Stamp on Ebay which had a similar pattern so I thought if I bought the Stamp I could have any colourway I wanted.........................that's my excuse for buying the stamp anyway lol!

Two Challenges Combined ~ Father In Law's Birthday Card!

I thought I'd be cheeky as this Card fell quite nicely into two Challenges!

Over at Daring Cardmakers the Challenge this week is 'Tis The Season...........to Recycle!'

I made this little Footballer Bear ages ago to sell on Ebay but couldn't part with him lol!..........He's been tucked safely in a box and is ready to come out now........................I hope he counts as he was for Ebay but he's been Recycled for me lol!

The 2nd Challenge is over at Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge #42 where you have to use something you got or bought for yourself over Christmas!
I treated myself to a Quickutz Silhouette so this fit nicely for this Challenge lol!

The Card is for my Father-In-Law who like my Husband is Football mad lol!................Don't know about you but I find Men's Cards a nightmare so I hope he likes it!

I've tried to let the Bear & Trophy do all the work so it's quite a simple card really....................
the Font is Balloon and I designed the Card so I could sit the Card Topper at the side of the Happy Birthday Wording.....................I think I might have looked at it too long ...........I keep thinking it needs something.......but what..........any ideas?.................It's needed for tomorrow so any comments would be helpful lol!

Very Quick Recipe List:
Teddybear Wooden Die ~ Sizzix Grass & Trophy Die ~ Quickutz Bottlecap, Star, No:10 & Football ~ Nestie Pettite Scallop Circle. Standard Scallop Circle & Standard Circle ~ Card & Big Trophy My Quickutz Silhouette Designs ~ Cuddly Buddly Sentiment Stamp & Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

The Challenge over at Arty Girlz this week is 'Anything But A Card'

2Sketches4You ~ Kazan's Sketch #17

My 1st Blog Post & Challenge for 2009 lol!

Just had to join in on the Brilliant Sketch by Kazan over at 2Sketches4Y!

I started this Card with a totally different Colour scheme in mind and it actually changed in appearence as I went along lol!

The Card used was Off White and I stamped the images with Brilliance Pearlescent Crimson which appeared quite dark...............To lift the look I then brushed very watery Red Watercolour mixed with Pearl-Ex Jewelz to add sparkle and a hint of Pink....................once dry I lifted some of the pigment off with a damp piece of kitchen towel to add highlights.
I attached my Fiskars Border Punch bits together and tried my hand at a bit of paper sewing (Tend to use the Sewing Machine just for Sewing Cloth.............so this is a 1st for me lol!).............I also added a sewn border to the Roses and the Heart Stamping!
Hearts are attached in layers with Foam Pads so they POP!
Just for finishing touch I added tiny Crystal Gems to the Top Heart Swirls!
The finished Card has a lovely shimmery effect..............I hope you can see this in the photo lol!
Just added a picture so you can see all the things I used!

Recipe List:
Rubber Stampede ~ 3321R Etched Rose Background

Penny Black ~ 2636K Scroll Pattern

Hero Arts ~ E2767 Sketch Heart

Funstamps ~ F-M124 Five Hearts

Brilliance Pearlescent Crimson

Pearl-Ex Jewelz ~ #680 Duo Red-Blue
Fiskars ~ Threading Water Border Punch

Quickutz ~ Basic Phrases Cookie Cutter Dies (Love) & Flourish

Tiny Crystal Gems from my Stash
