Laura's Sketch #8 ~ 2Sketches4You Challenge

I was again inspired to join in on the Challenge at 2Sketches4Y this week.........The Sketch is Brill and the DT Work is Exceptional!

Sorry it looks a bit drunk ...........it was a pig to photograph and I had to adjust the brightness and contrast in Photoshop so you could see a resemblance of what it actually looks like lol!

Just a little close up of my Heart Motif and a closer look at the background................."What did I do?" you ask!

I started off with my new Rubber Stampede Etched Rose Background Stamp and stamped onto a Plain White Card in Versamark Old Rose.......................Then I took my Hero Arts Italian Poetry Background Stamp and Stamped with my Versamark Watermark Pad and then Embossed with White...........I then took my Heart Butterfly and Stamped twice with Versamark and White Embossing Powder........This bit done!

Took another Plain White Card and Stamped with my Italian Poetry Background with Old Rose ink but only the area's that would be visible washed over with a wet Brush!

Punched out my Fiskars Border and Flourishes and Embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Stamped my Muse Heart with Old Rose Ink and did a second inking which I can cut around with Fancy Scissors.......................Used Dot Pattern Stamp on edges and again Embossed with White Embossing Powder....................Punched out a set of Wizard Butterflies and again used the Dot Pattern Stamp, Embossed with White and sponged with Old Rose so that the Pink would go into the unembossed bits!
The Flowers are a crochet Pom Pom using some lovely Shiny Yarn that Mum gave me!

With Love Sentiment is Stamped with White Embossing Powder onto a Wizard Ribbon Trio Die and sponged at the edges with Old Rose ink and Pale Pink Chiffon Ribbon is tied to the sides!

Heart & Sentiment are attached to the Card with Foam Pads.............Flowers are attached with the Flower Brads lol!

Tutorial for Vintage Woman In Repose ~ Sketch Saturday

As promised, here are the instructions for my 'Vintage Woman In Repose' Card using The Sketch Saturday Sketch #14 sketch.

Sketch Saturday ~ Sketch #14 - 30th August.
The Picture on the right shows the majority of the Items I've used to create my 'Vintage Woman in Repose' Card.

Recipe List:
Judikins ~ Carol's Cube 67191 Plain Square.
Judikins ~ Artifacts Cube 67181 Marble Effect.
Heidi Grace ~ Swirl Florish Stamp(Cherry Wood Set).
Rubber Stampede ~ Woman In Repose 3942F.
Rubber Stampede ~ Wild Rose Background 3258R.
Personal Impressions ~ Butterfly P547 E.
Inca Stamp ~In431-a Queen Of Spain Butterfly.
PSX ~ Butterfly A-557.

Distress Ink ~ Antique Linen, Versafine Archival, Vintage Sepia, Hero Arts Shadow Ink ~ Rose.
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder ~ D'vine Swirl ~ Fiskars Border Punch ~ Threading Water.
Pantone Pens ~ 115-M Flesh Tone, Tria 698-T Lt Pink, 182-M Pink, 493-M Dk Pink & Colour Tint Green 40% ~ All from my stash.
Pink Chiffon/Organza Ribbon from my Stash.

First take your plain Square Card, Antique Linen Distress Ink Pad and the Judikins Carol's Cube Stamp Block.

Ink up the Plain Square Stamp from the Block as shown on the right hand picture.

You will need to do a fairly random pattern and just stamp squares all over the Card.

Take the Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Rose and daub over the blank areas between your Antique Linen stamping.

Nearly done with the background!

Now take your Archival Vintage Sepia Ink Pad and Ink up the Marble effect section of the Judikins Artifacts cube...........Blot lightly onto a section of scrap paper and then Stamp your Card..........remember to twist the Stamp when stamping so you achieve a random pattern........you should be able to get two squares printed from one ink up!

Create a 2nd square of the same size using the above method for your Embossed D'vine Swirl and Woman in Repose matting layer.

The top Photo shows the edges sponged with Versa-mark Archival Vintage Sepia Ink.

The right Photo shows the corner stamped with the Heidi Grace Flourish Stamp..................Again with the Vintage Sepia Ink.

Take your 2nd piece of created Artwork and draw your half Circle..............I just happen to have my Circle tool but you can use what ever you use to produce circles.

Cut off the remaining Artwork and lay to one side.......this will be used for your matting layer for your Woman in Repose image.
The left-hand Photo shows the half Circle Embossed with the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl Embossing Folder and once embossed I have sanded off the surface so no ink remains.

The rectangle on the far right is your matting layer.

Next take your Fiskars Threading Water Border punch and take the half Circle and place it on the edge of the printed guide (not to the edge of the Punch as you don't want to waste any of the half circle). Punch your scallop edge.

Before attaching the Ribbon sponge the outside edges with your Versamark Vintage Sepia Ink Pad.

Your finished piece should look like the Photo on the right.

Having stamped my 'Woman In Repose' Image with the Versamark Vintage Sepia Ink, I have coloured the image using Pantone 155-M Flesh Tone all over the image.

I then re-coloured over areas to give contour and left some areas with only one sweep of the pen to give the appearence that light is shining on the face.

I lightly applied Vintage Pink Blending Chalk over the eyelids and Cheek bones for a blush effect............To finish off I have taken brown watercolour and brushed it lightly over the hair to give depth.

1st mark the back of the matting layer where you want to see the Image positioned on the front.
Now take your ruler and ball tool for scoring and score lines on the reverse..............I have used my pricking mat as the ball tool sinks into it.

Turn over and Sand lightly over the embossed line and then cut to size.

You have now produced all the main pieces.......Now for the Embellishments.

I have only stamped the remaining items I needed as I had some bits left over from the previous Card.

Again, using the Versamark Vintage Sepia Ink Pad I coloured as follows.
Light Pink tria Pantone 698T ~ All over the stamped image.
Mid Pink Pantone 182-M I ~ Just shaded as seen on image.
Dk Pink Pantone 493-M ~ Just the Tips and Central Sections.

Green Pantone Colour Tint 40% ~ Just the leaves.
Flesh Pantone 155-M ~ Butterfly Bits and Flower Centres.

Now you have all the pieces you just need to assemble as per the Sketch.

I used Uhu to attach the Butterflies to the ribbon...........PVA Glue to attach the Butterflies to the Woman Image and the Flowers have been attached with 3D Foam Pads.

Please let me know if you need any other help.

Have fun and thanks for looking
